Hello, again
So I've been absent for a little while. Not because I haven't been working on things, but precisely because I HAVE been working on things. I just haven't been doing a very good job of telling you about it. So let me tell you a little bit about what's been going on.

1. First styled-shoot
In the wedding world, there is a thing called a "styled-shoot." This is where you basically create a fake mini-wedding for the purposes of taking pictures of it. There are usually multiple vendors involved, such as a dessert maker, furniture and decor rental, hair and makeup artists, etc. There are many benefits of doing a styled shoot. One is that you get to know and work with new vendors. Another benefit is that you can show a lot of options that some couples getting married might not realize they have. In January, I planned and executed my first styled elopement shoot. It. Was. Fantastic. I had the most beautiful models, and I worked with AMAZING vendors. I can't reveal too many details quite yet, because the shoot is going to be published on Charlotte Brides sometime in the next few months. Once it has been published, I will share lots and lots of pictures. For now, the picture above is a sneak peek. ;-)
2. Work work work!
I've been doing a lot of various shoots the past few weeks. You may know that I also do photography under the company name Whimsicle Photography. I do a lot of portraits and headshots under that name, and it allows me to keep The Elopement Co. strictly for tiny weddings. I have met some amazing people and had so much fun doing their pictures. Check it out here if you ever get a chance!
3. Meeting new couples!
Did you know that if you put in an inquiry on my website, I will buy you a cup of coffee? That's my favorite part! Emails are ok, but I much prefer meeting my couples in person. So when someone inquires about eloping, I plan a date to meet and buy them a cup of coffee (or tea, wine, whatever) to chat. You guys are awesome people, and I just want to get to know you!
4. Location scouting
I am ALWAYS on the hunt for new locations, but sometimes I intentionally leave Charlotte and go driving around trying to find new places. I especially love the outdoors, so I tend to gravitate towards beautiful scenery. I am going to be sharing some location pictures with you in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
5. ThenComesMarriage.LOVE Wedding Expo
Charlotte's first LGBTQ Wedding expo is happening this coming weekend, February 19, at the University Hilton. Find out more about it here. I am beyond excited for this event, but man, it has eaten up my time! This will be our first wedding expo, and there is a lot that goes into it. I ordered some adorable pins with our name on them, ordered new business cards, post cards, tee shirts, and so much more. I'm nervous, as this will be my first time really being in public in this format, but I'm SUPER excited to meet a ton of fantastic couples who are in love and excited about getting married. I would L O V E to see you there! If you happen to read this and come to the expo, make sure you stop by my booth and tell me! My husband will also be hanging out with me at the expo, so make sure you come over and say Hi and enter to win a free photo session!
So that is a brief overview of what I've been working on lately. I would love to hear from you and what's been going on in your world. Feel free to message me below or shoot me an email at .
Cheers!
